This policy applies to information we collect from restaurant owners and staff using our platform, from guests who submit reservations or waitlist requests through a restaurant using ReserveSit, and from related operational workflows within the ReserveSit iOS app and web applications.
ReserveSit is a business-to-business platform. We provide the software used by restaurants to manage guest and operational records, and each restaurant may separately determine what information it enters, updates, retains, or deletes in its account.
2. Information We Collect
Restaurant owners and staff
We collect account and business information such as name, email, phone number, restaurant details, subdomain configuration, and billing records. Payment card processing is handled by Stripe and we do not store full card numbers in our systems.
Restaurant guests (diners)
We collect data submitted during booking, including name, email, phone number, party size, reservation date/time, special requests, dietary preferences, allergy or dietary notes, general guest notes, reservation history, waitlist details, event ticket guest information, and confirmation or check-in details associated with reservations or events.
Restaurant operational and staff records
We collect and store operational information entered by restaurant users, such as guest profile tags, guest notes, service activity, table assignments, employee schedule information, time-off request data, and notification preference settings stored on device.
Automatically collected data
We may collect IP address, browser/device details, approximate location, page activity, and session data through logs and cookies necessary to run and secure the service.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, maintain, and support the ReserveSit platform.
- Process reservations and waitlist workflows for restaurant customers.
- Support guest relationship tools such as guest profiles, VIP notes, tags, dietary records, and reservation history.
- Support restaurant operations such as floor management, event guest lists, ticket check-in, schedules, and time-off workflows.
- Send transactional notifications such as confirmations, reminders, status updates, and password resets.
- Communicate account updates, service changes, and support messages.
- Monitor performance and improve product reliability and usability.
- Detect abuse, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Your Information
We share guest information with the restaurant where the reservation is made so the restaurant can provide service.
We share limited data with service providers that help us operate the platform, including Resend (transactional email), Stripe (payment processing), and Cloudflare (DNS/CDN/security).
We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of ReserveSit, restaurants, or guests.
We do not sell personal data.
5. Data Retention
We retain data for as long as needed to provide the service, meet contractual requirements, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.
Restaurant account and staff data are generally retained while an account remains active. Operational records such as reservations, waitlist entries, guest notes, guest history, event ticket data, and schedule records may remain in a restaurant account until deleted by the customer, archived through normal product use, or removed as part of account closure.
Backup copies, security logs, and system records may persist for a limited period after deletion where reasonably necessary for disaster recovery, fraud prevention, audit, or legal compliance purposes.
